A full-stack food-ordering application built on the MERN stack — the whole loop from signing in to watching your order's status update in real time.

How it's built

RESTful APIs over Node + Express, with MongoDB schemas modeling users, restaurants, menus, cart items, and orders. The front end is a responsive React interface with dynamic menus and streamlined navigation.

Modeling the data first — what a restaurant is, what a menu item is, how a cart becomes an order — made the API surface fall out naturally, and kept the real-time status feature from turning into a tangle of special cases.
